August 2025
This month’s release introduces flexible new sending options for users without a private domain – plus improvements to layout design options, contact activity tracking, and support for Japanese users.
Send Campaigns Without a Private Domain
What’s new: New accounts can now send emails right away using a Benchmark-managed shared domain (benchmarksend.com).
Why it matters: No private domain? No problem. If your DNS provider doesn’t support NS records – or you’re just getting started – you can send emails immediately using our shared domain, activated within minutes of signup.
- The “From” address is partially customizable.
- Table below: examples of “from” emails for shared domains.
Signup email address | Default “from” shared email address | Example other “from” addresses |
paulspizza@gmail.com | paulspizza@31na.us.benchmarksend.com | pizza@31na.us.benchmarksend.com marketing@31na.us.benchmarksend.com |
marketing@paulspizza.com | marketing@31na.us.benchmarksend.com | paulspizza@31na.us.benchmarksend.com pizza@31na.us.benchmarksend.com |
- Shared domains apply to test sends until a user authenticates their private domain.
- Once a private domain is authenticated, it automatically replaces the shared one.
Sending limits apply to protect deliverability. To raise your limit, you can always authenticate your own domain.
New Plain Text Email Layout
What’s new: A new “Text” layout makes it easy to send streamlined, plain text-style emails with hyperlink support.
Why it matters: Whether you prefer a minimal look or need high-deliverability messages, this layout gives you a clean starting point.
See How Contacts Unsubscribed
What’s new: The contact activity feed now specifies how a contact was unsubscribed – by the contact, during an import, or manually.
Why it matters: Better transparency helps you maintain clean lists and understand audience behavior.
